4.0 out of 5 stars Samsung C6400/C6300 vs Samsung C6900/C6800 vs Bravia EX710/EX711, January 9, 2011
This review is from: Samsung UN55C6400 55" Class 1080p LED HDTV 2010 Model Internet Ready (Electronics)
I spent weeks researching and testing various LCD/LED flat screens. In the end I purchased the Samsung 55 inch C6400. The C6400 model is the same screen as the C6300 model except the C6400 has Samsung's built-in internet apps whereas the C6300 does not. In the process, I purchased two Samsungs (C6400 and C6900) and one Sony Bravia (EX711). Here is what I learned:

* All of the review websites "calibrate" their screens before performing a review. During calibration the screen's default settings are changed to supposedly make them more accurate. Nifty features that are built into the screen like "Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio" are frequently disabled during calibration because they can affect the accuracy of the image. In my opinion, if a nifty feature in your television can make it appear brighter or more colorful, go for it. Color accuracy is overrated. What matters is whether *you* like the picture or not.

* Edge-lit screens like the Samsungs and Bravia... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars SamSung 55" 120Hz LED INTERNET TV-THE GREATEST PICTURE EVER, December 2, 2010
This review is from: Samsung UN55C6400 55" Class 1080p LED HDTV 2010 Model Internet Ready (Electronics)
I purchased this 55" Inch Samsung LED 120 Hz Flat screen Television at Costco for $1,999.00 at Costco. I received a $200 discount when I purchased it. I plugged in this LED Tv in a what a CLEAR PICTURE! It almost looks like a 3-D picture, since its so clear. It is Bright and the color is Fantastic. Very Easy to use with the standard remote. My daughter used her Apple Laptop with it and it worked great. She also had the internet going on this Tv as well....Very simple and east to use. The only draw back is that you need to buy a Samsung Wireless LAN USB dongle. If you want to hook up to the internet going wireless. You can run a DSL CAT wire to the Tv. If you don't want to go wireless. But why run extra wires to the Tv....? I usually buy SONY "THE ONE AND ONLY" Products. But this TV rates on the same level as Sony. You also need to purchase a "ULTRA FAST' HDMI cable that will support 1080p @ 120 and 240 Hz. (If you want either the 120Hz or 240 progressive scan to work at its top peak)... Read more
